Our policy is to respect and protect the privacy of users. This statement explains how Australian Lutheran College [ALC] collects information and how it is used. With respect to the collection, use and disclosure of *personal information ALC complies with the Privacy Act 1988 and the National Privacy Principles, which form part of that Act, and which incorporate the amendments made by the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.

As a general rule, identifying *personal information is not collected unless you choose to provide such information to us.

Site visit data

Visits to our website are recorded in a log which includes but not limited to:

Your server's address
The name of the top level domain from which you access the Internet (for example, .gov, .com, .edu, .org, .au, .nz etc)
The type of browser you use
The date and time you access the site
The pages you have accessed and the documents downloaded
The previous Internet address from which you linked directly to our site
The Internet address to which you link directly from our site

This information is collected for statistical analysis use only and no attempt is made by ALC to identify browsing activities, except in the unlikely event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect the Internet Service Provider's logs. The data gathered allow us to assess the number of visitors to the the site and help us make our site more friendly and useful to visitors.

Email management—collection of *personal information

Your email address will only be recorded if you choose to send us a message. It will only be used for the purpose for which you have provided it and will not be added to a mailing list. We will not use your email address for any other purpose, and will not disclose it, without your consent.
