The first inaugral Fritzsche Oration was held at ALC on Wednesday, 25 July at 3.30pm, with approximately 60 people in attendance. A joint venture between the Australian Lutheran Institute for Theology and Ethics (ALITE) and the LCA Board of Archives and Research, the event commemorates Gotthard Ftitzsche as the fore-runner of Lutheran theological education in Australia and highlights the contribution of the theologians of the Church to the history of Australian Lutheranism.
ALC Emeritus Lecturer and former Principal of Lutheran Teachers College, Rev Dr Malcolm Bartsch delivered the 2012 oration: 'Fifty years of Lutheran schooling: achievements, opportunities [missed opportunities?] and challenges.' A downloadable version of the presentation is available.
