Opening Service and Lecture 2014
20 January 2014

Australian Lutheran College's academic year will commence on Monday, 24 February with worship in the college chapel at 9am, followed by the opening lecture in the Refectory at 9.30am.

This year's lecture will be presented by Rev Andrew Jaensch, who will speak on the topic, 'God is big enough for our questions: introducing learners to a critical approach to study of the Bible.'

At the heart of learning is inquiry. Inquiry involves asking questions: big questions that take the learner deeper and deeper. Enquiry with the questioning at its core applies also and in particular ways to study of the Bible. It can lead to a more mature understanding of the Bible as well as a more mature and resilient faith in the God who speaks to us through Scripture.

All are welcome to attend and stay on for morning tea following the lecture. For catering purposes, please notify the college of your attendance by calling reception on  (08) 8267 7400 or emailing alc@alc.edu.au.
