Scholarships available for ALC students to attend the Luther@500 Conference
10 February 2016
Thanks to a generous grant from the Lutheran Laypeople’s League (LLL), ALC is able to offer a limited number of scholarships to ALC students to attend the Luther@500 Conference in Melbourne from 28 June to 3 July 2016. These scholarships are available to students in all schools of the college, including post-graduate students and are worth up to $800.
You can find further information about the scholarships and application instructions on the conference website registration page - www.luther500.com.au. Applications for these scholarships are due by 7 March. Successful applicants will be notified by 23 March - before the early-bird registration closes.
The Luther500 conference is being held to mark the 500th anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation (in 2017) and intends to explore, positively and critically, the reception of Martin Luther’s theology today and its significance for Christianity in the future, particularly in ecumenical and global dimensions. The conference will feature six international Luther scholars as keynote speakers, as well as eight other speakers offering shorter papers in elective sessions, including a number of our own ALC teaching staff.
The conference promises to be a rare and unforgettable opportunity for Lutherans in Australia and New Zealand to hear from and engage with some of the leading international Luther scholars.
All students are encouraged to consider applying for a scholarship.
