News archive: Change of image for ALC

Australian Lutheran College turned heads in its Synod presentation by beginning with a fast-paced but moving DVD of the importance of ALC in training people for the mission and ministry of the Church.

Rev Tim Jaensch, Chair of the ALC Board, launched ALC’s new promotional DVD, designed to aid careers counsellors, pastors, teachers and the church in encouraging more people to consider a career in the church.

The DVD includes interviews with current and recently graduated students who are working in their chosen fields, as well as an overview of what life can be like as a student at ALC.

‘This is just the short teaser trailer!’ Rev Henderson said, ‘a longer version will be launched later in the year. The DVD will include the short and the longer version, as well as an option for congregations, youth groups and schools to access specialised areas of the DVD as it applies to them’.

Rev Henderson also launched an accompanying range of promotional brochures, designed to showcase the wide range of ALC courses, as well as specific careers in the church, its schools and departments.

The ALC website will also be undergoing a revival, with a new-look website expected to be online by late 2010.
