Student ID cards
About the ALC Student ID/Library cardEvery ALC student [on and off campus], who enrols in and pays [upfront or via FEE-HELP] for at least one scheduled unit in an academic year, is automatically issued with an ALC Student ID/Library card valid for the full academic year. Students are required to submit a photo [electronic preferred] with the Application for Enrolment. The Student ID/Library card is generated from data in the ALC Educational Management System, printed interstate and mailed directly to the nominated preferred mailing address for convenience.
Some of the benefits students may receive with an ALC student ID/Library card include:- clear identification as an ALC student for the academic year
- membership and borrowing rights to the Löhe Memorial Library at ALC
- specific borrowing rights from any ALC reciprocal library
- a student discount when purchasing books from some bookstores
- discounted tickets from some cinemas
- discount on travel [this may require an additional specific state transport card issued to full-time students only]
- the preferred electronic format for photo files is JPEG or GIF
- pale blue backgrounds work best with standard contrast
- focus is to be on the face [smiles encouraged]
- if submitting by hardcopy 4 passport sized photos are preferred [these are electronically scanned for transfer on to the card]
- the quality of the photo on the student card [and campus directory] reflects the quality of the photo submitted
Please note that while faulty cards are replaced free of charge, damaged or lost cards incur a replacement fee.
