I was ordained in December 2000 after graduating from ALC (then Luther Seminary), whereupon I served my first call as a parish pastor in the Hamilton Lutheran Parish, Victoria, before heading to Concordia Seminary St Louis for graduate school in 2007. Prior to coming to ALC I taught for four years as an Assistant Professor of Old Testament at Concordia University Irvine, California. There I enjoyed teaching Old Testament classes—to students of all walks of life—and Biblical Hebrew. On return to Australia I spent 6 months as parish pastor at Pilgrim Lutheran Church Magill, SA.
I like spending time with my wife Joanna and our six children (Samuel, Mary, John, Lucy, Thomas and Hannah), learning, traveling, and growing together as a family. I also enjoy fishing, archery, watching sport, and cycling as time and opportunity allow, and watching my kids explore their interests in these and other ventures.
