About

Ken Albinger was born in New York City NY in 1940. He received his undergraduate education in the Concordia system, attending Bronxville, NY, Fort Wayne, IN and finally graduating from Seward, NE in 1964. After serving as a teacher and principal in two Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod schools, he accepted the challenge of a call to serve the Lutheran Church of Australia in 1973. Here he served as principal of three schools, and later as director for Lutheran Schools in Queensland, 1986–1999.

Ken joined the staff of Luther Seminary in 1999 after over thirty years' experience in Lutheran education in the USA and Australia. With this background, he brought a wealth of experience to his role in the formation of Lutheran teachers, and a strong conviction to improve the programs for preparing teachers. Ken spent his first two years on the ALC teaching staff working on campus in North Adelaide. He was then seconded to the school of education at Australian Catholic University in Brisbane. In his six years at ACU, he concentrated his efforts on developing sound and relevant units of study for the undergraduates, and helping to reshape the focus of the Masters of Education course.

In 2008 he retired from the ALC faculty and accepted a call to serve as principal of Faith Lutheran School in Edmonton, Canada. In 2010 the school relocated to St Albert and became King of Kings Lutheran School. In late 2012 he returned to Australia to serve as the Principal of Lutheran Primary School Wagga Wagga in NSW.
