In addition to its education program, ALC runs a 90 room residential facility for tertiary students. Our residents enjoy 'home style' cooking; all meals, deserts, cakes, pastries, bread rolls etc are prepared onsite by our kitchen staff.

To be considered for this position, applicants must be able to meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years commercial cooking experience
  • Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Must be a team player and able to follow direction
  • Able to supervise casual kitchen hands
  • Be available to work alternate weekends; a 5 day roster over a 7 day period
  • Be reliable and have a good work ethic
  • Follow WHS procedures and food-handling regulations closely
  • Understand HACCP and nutritional information
  • Excellent communication skills and good personal presentation essential.
