Service opportunity: Principal

Position location: Adelaide

Australian Lutheran College (ALC), the tertiary education provider of the Lutheran Church of Australia and New Zealand (LCANZ), is seeking applications for the position of Principal.

The position will become vacant at the end of 2023, following the return to parish ministry of the incumbent Principal, Rev James Winderlich.

The Board of Directors desires to continue the exemplary work achieved by Rev Winderlich in leading the organisational change required to secure the future of the College. As such, the successful applicant will have a passion to embrace and implement the College’s mission and values.

The new ALC Principal will be an ordained pastor of the LCANZ, an innovative leader and accomplished theologian with a heart for learners and learning. He will have a collaborative and empowering leadership style with the expertise and enthusiasm to nurture an educational faith community which is learner-centred, outward-focussed and robustly responsive to the changing needs of the LCANZ and its agencies.

Ideally the successful applicant will take up the position from the commencement of the 2024 academic year.

To receive the information pack, please contact the Secretary of the Church, Dr Nigel Long at soc@lca.org.au.

Applications close 9.00am EST Monday 25 September 2023.

In addition to the Principal's position, ALC will shortly be advertising for expressions of interest from ordained candidates to expand its pool of casual academics for 2024. Over the coming months, the College will also be advertising a Systematics position, as the current incumbent transitions to retirement next year.
